The mind matters.
The body matters.
Your experiences matter.

I believe that when we understand our minds, our bodies, and the patterns we’ve developed along the way, we can begin to meet ourselves with more compassion and make changes that actually support the lives we want to live.

Hey there, I’m Keisha.

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and former school psychologist based in Seattle, Washington, and a lifelong learner who believes deeply in the power of understanding yourself.

I began my career supporting children, adolescents, families, and educators with social-emotional, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental needs. Over time, I realized I wanted the freedom to work with people more holistically.

I loved learning about people and finding ways to support them, but I also became increasingly aware of the limitations of systems that weren’t designed to meet people where they actually were. I wanted to do work that felt more aligned with my values.

Throughout this journey, I’ve also learned a lot about myself. For years I had been very good at pushing through, or white-knuckling as I often call it. School, work, relationships, responsibilities. I found myself burnt out, anxious, depleted, and disconnected from my body.

Eventually, I realized that constantly pushing wasn’t sustainable. Exploring my own journey in therapy and body awareness practices changed how I understood myself, and ultimately how I practice today.

My Values

More About Me

My approach has evolved alongside my own understanding of what it means to feel well. My training began with cognitive-behavioral approaches, and over time I became increasingly drawn to nervous system and somatic work. Today, I bring cognitive, somatic, and relational approaches together because I believe understanding ourselves requires looking at the whole picture: our minds, bodies, experiences, relationships, and environments.

Private practice has given me the freedom to practice with integrity, continue learning, and meet people as whole humans rather than problems to be fixed.

My style is warm, collaborative, curious, and integrative. We’ll explore your patterns, needs, experiences, and what matters to you, with plenty of validation and self-compassion, along with gentle challenge when it’s helpful. There may be laughter, there may be tears, and hopefully plenty of moments when something clicks and you think, “Oh. That makes sense.”

Ultimately, I want you to understand yourself without immediately judging yourself, feel more confident identifying and communicating what you need, and have tools that help you navigate life with greater ease and authenticity.

When I’m Not Seeing Clients

I’m usually doing something fairly low-key. I love being outside near trees and water, and I’m an all-weather walker, usually with my Aussie in tow. Or, more accurately, with him towing me.

I love reading and learning, exploring local Seattle gems, practicing yoga and easeful movement, socializing in small doses, and going deep on whatever has caught my interest lately.
